Equipment

  • blender
  • strainer (optional)
  • muddler or spoon
  • mixing glass
  • serving glasses

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cubed ripe watermelon (or melon of choice)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 6–8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1–2 tsp maple syrup or agave syrup (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water (lime-flavored or plain)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 melon balls, mint sprigs, or lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Blend the cubed melon until smooth. Strain if a smoother texture is desired.
  • Muddle mint leaves gently in a glass to release oils without tearing.
  • Add the melon juice, lime juice, and maple syrup. Stir to combine.
  • Add ice cubes, then top off with sparkling water. Stir gently.
  • Garnish with melon balls, mint, or lime slices. Serve immediately.

Notes

Swap watermelon for honeydew or cantaloupe. Use maple syrup, agave, or go sugar-free with stevia. Add strawberries or cucumber for a twist, or kombucha for tang. Garnish with melon balls and mint sprigs for style.
